As a Graphic Designer at Flip N' Save Coupons, I was tasked with designing advertisements for local businesses to be printed in our bi-monthly coupon books. I worked with our clients to ensure that their advertisements would reflect their businesses well, as well as including any information the client would want. As a designer, I also created spec advertisements that would showcase our company's style to potential customers. These spec ads would involve extensive research in to the business we were looking to advertise for. I would need to collect all of the information I could, including the name, address, phone number, website, and any other relevant information. I would also need to source and edit relevant pictures in Adobe Photoshop. Our coupon books would go in to production every 2 months. During the pre-production phase, I would be responsible for ensuring the books were formatted correctly in InDesign before being sent off to the printer. This required me to check for the correct bleed and margins for every advertisement; as well as ensuring all files were exported correctly.
