VAMPED Brand Development

In this project, I discuss the process I took to reach the final design of the energy drink brand VAMPED.

The process includes styleboards, logo sketches, label designs, mock-ups and advertising.

VAMPED is a groundbreaking energy drink designed exclusively for vampires, catering to their unique needs and lifestyle. This innovative drink provides an unparalleled source of energy and sustenance, keeping vampires refreshed and revitalized throughout the night. From the halls of a castle to the pavement of a mosh pit, VAMPED will provide you with a splash of energy, vitamins, and essential antioxidants that’ll keep even the most bloodthirsty vampires all night long.

VAMPED's energy drink design should be the go-to for vampires worldwide, making it the ultimate source of vitality, and a coveted accessory in their eternal existence.

The challenge is to create a logo and design packaging for VAMPED that captures the essence of immortal energy, balancing the allure of the vampire lifestyle with a modern, edgy aesthetic. Ensure it stands out in the crowded energy drink market, invoking a sense of eternal vitality while resonating with the target vampire clientele.

VAMPED needs to connect with the clientele while also setting itself apart from other energy drinks that are on the market.

Concept 1 - This styleboard is what VAMPED is branded after. It is bright, saturated and energetic. The blood splatters are also reminiscent of a drink splashing. This version of VAMPED is catered to punks, rockers, and metalheads.

Concept 2 - This styleboard focuses on dark rich colors to represent a person of royalty with a dark secret. Instead of the bright reds typically associated with vampires, the colors are less saturated and are cool tone reds, pinks and purples.

Concept 3 - This styleboard shows a different type of vampire than what is typically shown - a vintage 1950s vampire. The colors are less saturated with gold accents. The branding should also incorporate J.C. Leyendecker's painting style.

Logo sketches - beginning sketches of the logo. I focused on the key symbols associated with vampirism such as vampire fangs, bats, blood, and crosses.

Logo Exploration - I refined the icon sketches that I liked the most and began combining the symbols with different fonts. None of the fonts felt correct for my logo, so I began customizing an existing font to make it my own.

Final Logo/Type - The final font-style of the brand is an edited version of the existing font EXOCET.  Keeping in line with the brand's theme, the four different flavors will be named after the four different blood types listed above.

Label Sketches - Beginning sketches for the brand's labels. I had not decided a final logo or font yet, nor did I know the feeling I wanted to capture with the branding. The more iterations I did, the closer I got to understanding the brand.
